Manufacturing Sector NetworkMSQ has developed a manufacturing sector network that consists of consultative groups for each of the sectors listed below.
MSQ operates in a partnership between industry and government with the aim of fostering improved coordination and leadership within the industry to strengthen the role employers play in overcoming skills and labour shortages. The Consultative Groups consist of industry representatives from respective industry sectors throughout Queensland and will focus specifically on sector skilling needs. These sector-specific consultative groups are the key to providing input to MSQ's annual skills report, which will provide annual updates on industry skill requirements and progress against the implementation of the 3 year skills plan (PDF 2.2 MB) submitted to the Department of Education, Training and the Arts (DETA) in early March 2008. This will ensure that government investment in training will be directed to the needs of industry. The role of the Consultative Groups are to:
